This course is the first in the progression of leadership courses that can lead to being certified as a SCUBA Educators Instructor. 

The Divemaster course is approximately 40 hours of training time that includes classroom, pool, and open water training.

In this program, the cognitive or classroom portion is at the instructor level and this program, therefore, becomes the first phase in leadership training.
