31-year-old Lamar Brown of Summerville lies dead today, the result of a 13-year-old who got his mom’s gun and shot him.
Around 2 P.M. today, Brown and Ira J. Bennet, 28, of North Charleston allegedly decided to rob a house today, probably thinking that it was unoccupied.
They were wrong. For Brown, they were dead wrong.
They pulled up in back of the house and were spotted making their approach to the home…by a 13-year-old who was home alone attending his online public school.
According to the police report, the boy observed the two perpetrators attempting to enter the home, retrieved his mother’s handgun, and opened fire.
The two suspects returned fire, missing the young man, and fled to their vehicle which was now peppered with bullet holes.
Shortly thereafter, the getaway car pulled up to Trident Hospital, where Brown was pronounced dead.
We at Interritus would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the boy who had to pull the trigger. According to the reports, he’s a bit of an introvert and the result of this shooting may very well be YEARS of therapy to get past the guilt and heartache. Perhaps the deceased’s estate can be liquidated to pay for it.
We would like to also express our hope that this boy is left alone by the anti-gun trolls. As an attendee of an online school, he’s going to be exposed to even more propaganda telling him that he’s an evil person for defending himself, that his pulling the trigger is morally repugnant and makes him unworthy as a human being, or that his use of a firearm to defend his life and home makes him less of a person.
The boy and his family have since left the home, fearing for their safety, and Brown’s accomplice is resting comfortably in a jail cell; charged with First-Degree Burglary and Possession Of A Weapon During The Commission Of A Violent Crime. Hopefully, this will be upgraded to a Felony-Murder Charge.
