Gunshots rang out and a man was killed near Stone Mountain Park, a popular tourist destination and controversial Confederate monument located less than 20 miles from Atlanta.
According to Stone Mountain Police, a young man executed a home invasion-style assault on a residence and began assaulting the female occupant. The male occupant engaged the intruder and shot him, killing him.
Details are very scarce, even two days after the fact. So we cannot offer any kind of analysis of what the residents did less effectively than they could have.
By the way the article is arranged, we might offer the conjecture that this was an assault based upon a former relationship between the assailant and the female victim, but until the police finish their investigation, we won’t be able to say.
